Abib/Nissan – The Month of the Ear and the Bloom

The biblical month of Abib/Nissan is the first month in the biblical calendar. It is the month of ‘the firstfruits and new beginnings’ because the word ‘Abib’ means ‘ear’ and describes the stage of growth of grain when the seeds have reached full size. The month of ‘Nissan’ is the month of ‘the bloom’ and means ‘opening, beginning’.

Abib/Nissan is the month that is aligned with Judah who was the 4’th son of Jacob. His mother was Lea which means ‘weary’. Judah means ‘praise’.

Since the LORD instructed Moses to count all the months from the month of Abib/Nissan, this Rosh Chodesh – the beginning of the new biblical month – has a special significance because this month announces the new year in the cycle of redemption, according to which all other months must be aligned.

Abib/Nissan opens the new cycle of redemption, which synchronizes with the current cycle of blessing and thus comes in line with the new biblical year. This also means redemption through the blood of the Lamb of God can flow without limitation in the new cycle and year (cf. Exodus 12:2 i.c.w. Exodus 13:4).

Exodus 12:2:
2 ‘This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. …’

Exodus 13:4:
4 Today, in the month of Aviv, you are leaving.

This synchronization of these two cycles in time is an indication of the increase of worship and the clarity of sound, which changes from ‘monotony – mono’ to ‘diversity – stereo’. With God, synchronization is also linked to the movement of His throne chariot, which carries His presence because its wheels are connected to or within each other (cf. Ezekiel 1:15-22).

Ezekiel 1:15-22:
15 As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces.
16 This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: they sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.
17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went.
18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
19 When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.
20 Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
21 When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling like crystal, and awesome.

This revelation is important for us in the new synchronized year because it is about our walk in the Spirit, filling the cycles within the new year with the redemptive plan of God, who is Jesus Christ, so that the glory of God becomes more evident. In this regard, the lifestyle of worship is of great importance because it is the worship upon which the Lord is enthroned and this is the place where God settles (cf. Psalm 22:3 i.c.w. Psalm 114:1-2).

Psalm 22:3:
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.

Psalm 114:1-2:
1 When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue, 2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

At this time, I would like to encourage us to examine our lives based on the truth of God’s Word and, where necessary, to reconsider and change attitudes that are not in harmony with the Father’s will so as not to hinder the flow of the Spirit for the time to come. Where the Holy Spirit cannot flow effectively, things are difficult, dry and exhausting (cf. 2 Corinthians 3:6).

2 Corinthians 3:6:
6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant – not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The Characteristic of Judah

The characteristic and value of Judah is to recognize the new day of the increase of the presence of Jesus Christ in our time as well as the new beginning of human events and affairs (cf. Matthew 24:27).

Matthew 24:27:
27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

The reason is because the tribe of Judah is positioned on the east side of the Tabernacle and is marching first from all the other tribes of Israel (cf. Numbers 2:3; Numbers 10:13-14). This why we say ‘Judah goes first’.

Numbers 2:3:
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.

Numbers 10:13-14:
13 They set out, this first time, at the Lord’s command through Moses.
14 The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command.

Furthermore is Judah the leading tribe and has as tribe emblem the lion because Jacob blessed him as his son to be a lion with the attribute of a lioness (cf. Genesis 49:8-12).

Genesis 49:8-12:
8 “Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.
9 You are a lion’s cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness – who dares to rouse him?
10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.
11 He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.
12 His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.

Tied to the Vine

From Genesis 49:11 we can see that Judah ‘will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch’. The vine in this context is a reference to fertility and joy.

The time of Judah is a dimension in which God teaches us as His people how to flourish and become more fruitful, and in what ways we can bear and keep the treasures of the Kingdom that He entrusts to us for the Kingdom.

Since the vine is an upward-twining plant, it calls us in Christ Jesus to ascend in royal authority into the ‘spirit realm of Judah’ to bring God’s Kingdom treasures to earth and carry them to their predestined place through the wisdom of Issachar (cf. Genesis 49:14-15; Deuteronomy 33:18-19).

Genesis 49:14-15:
14 “Issachar is a rawboned donkey lying down among the sheep pens.
15 When he sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor. …”

Deuteronomy 33:18-19:
18 About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents.
19 They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer the sacrifices of the righteous; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.”

The vine, Jesus Christ, in this context is a pathway between heaven and earth, between the spiritual realm and the natural realm. It is a pathway that is linked with joy and rest. This rest includes physical rest or peace, which includes inner rest in emotions as well as rest in all endeavors (cf. John 14:27; John 15:5).

John 14:27:
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 15:5:
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. …”

Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Abib/Nissan is the biblical month, in which we, as the bride of Christ, celebrate the blood of the Lamb of God as ‘Pessach’ means ‘to pass over/by’ and where we enter deeper into the land of our promise. It is the blood of the Lamb of God which led us out of slavery into His glorious freedom as children (Note: sons) of God and that protects us in the judgments of God (cf. Exodus 12:5-7.12-14 i.c.w. Romans 8:21).

Exodus 12:5-7.12-14:
5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.
6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.
7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the door frames of the houses where they eat the lambs. …
12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgement on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD – a lasting ordinance.

Romans 8:21:
… 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children (Note: sons) of God.

It is the blood of the Lamb of God that made us kings and priests to serve God, the Heavenly Father (cf. Revelation 1:5-6).

Revelation 1:5-6:
… 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father – to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and is as well the Lamb of God that was slain whose appearance is connected with the access to the sealed prophesy (cf. Revelation 5:4-6 i.c.w. Revelation 6:1).

Revelation 5:4-6:
4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

Revelation 6:1:
1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”

The Lion of Judah is only mentioned by the 24 elders in the book of Revelation (cf. Revelation 5:5). The Lion of the tribe of Judah is not visibly appearing as an animal for John and this reveals that Judah has a sound and it includes, among other things, the call to praise.

The Acknowledgment of Jesus Christ, the Crucified and Resurrected One

When we acknowledge Jesus Christ as the crucified and resurrected one in our lives, we are qualified by God to recognize things which He had hidden from our spiritual eyes and sealed over a period of time, at the right time in accordance with His will.

It is the Heavenly Father’s desire that we move in His seven-fold Spirit (Note: His ‘seven eyes’; cf. Isaiah 11:2), as well as in the structure of the seven horns of the Lamb of God, which comprise His power, His wealth, His wisdom, His strength, His honor, His glory and His praise (cf. Revelation 5:6.12).

Revelation 5:6.12:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. …
… 12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

The Alignment of Judah and the ‘First Three Stages’

Judah is aligned with the tribes of Issachar and Zebulun who belong to the first unit of the tribes of Israel. Because of their position you can call them ‘the front line tribes’ and they are placed in the east (cf. Numbers 2:3-9).

It is the tribe of Issachar, which means ‘He will bring a reward’. and the tribe of Zebulun, which means ‘habitation, flat’ that belong to the camp of Judah, meaning ‘praise’ (cf. Numbers 2:3-9; Numbers 10:13-17). In this alignment, the tribe of Judah is the leading tribe.

These three tribes mentioned above form the forefront of the tribes of Israel could also be called the ‘first three stages’ in the time cycle of God within the holy year of redemption.

1) Judah => new sound to break through the old sound barrier in order to move ahead
2) Issachar => the ability to bring favor/blessing
3) Zebulun => the place of rest and relationship

The East and the Face of the Human Being

The east is connected in a biblical context with the ‘front’ (cf. Numbers 2:3) and points to a time of renewal or new beginning (Note: in the east the sun rises).

The human face of the four living beings of God is connected with the east, because it is first mentioned in Ezekiel 1:10. The faces of the four living beings are connected with the direction in the book of Ezekiel, in contrast to the book of Revelation, where the beings are connected with position (cf. Revelation 4:7).

Ezekiel 1:10 (Note: Positioning for visitation):
10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being (Note: east), and on the right side each had the face of a lion (Note: south), and on the left the face of an ox (Note: north); each also had the face of an eagle (Note: west).

Revelation 4:7 (Note: Positioning for government):
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.

The positioning of the four living creatures in Ezekiel 10:14, on the other hand, refers to the phase of God’s judgment, since God reveals judgment in Ezekiel 9, which is related to the withdrawal of His presence from the temple.

Ezekiel 10:14:
14 Each of the cherubim had four faces: one face was that of a cherub, the second the face of a human being, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

The directions and the positions of the four living beings are to illustrate to us how important it is to know spiritually where to go (Note: direction) and at what time (Note: position, order) to keep moving with God.

The View into a New Direction

In order to look in a new direction, it is necessary that we turn toward it, which means that we are willing to renew our spirit and mind (cf. Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:23).

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:23:
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; …

The positions of the four living creatures of God in the book of Revelation are giving us a new understanding about the ‘hierarchy’ and ‘divine ranking’ as well as the authority of God.

The Human Face and the Lion

It is no coincidence that the face of the human being of the four living creatures in Ezekiel 1:10 is first mentioned as well as the living creature of the lion in Revelation 4:7.

The human face as well as the lion (Note: The lion is the king of the land animals.) direct to Jesus Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords as it is mentioned by the blessing of Jacob for Judah who would ‘tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch’ (cf. Genesis 49:10-11a i.c.w. Mark 11:1-11a; John 12:14-15).

Genesis 49:10-11a:
10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.
11a He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; …

Mark 11:1-11a (Jesus Christ riding into Jerusalem as King and Priest):
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’ ”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”
6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.
7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it.
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.
9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
11a Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. ...

John 12:14-15:
14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: 15 “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt (cf. Zechariah 9:9).”

The Face of the Human Being

It is the face of the human being that is linked to the spirit of the understanding of God and the spirit of the counsel of God.

=> The spirit of understanding teaches us where and how to access the realm of God. It teaches us how to use the things we possess from God at the right time. Furthermore, it helps us to determine revelation, visions and divine mysteries.

The spirit of understanding trains us how to discern, teach and inform others about the Kingdom realm. It teaches us how to govern in the realms of God as His sons in the sonship of Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of counsel teaches us the ways in which we govern as sons of God and how to access the counsel of God which means how to consult God, how to clarify matters, and how to bring the counsel of God from the realm of the Spirit to those around us.

He teaches us how to associate with God and receive His counsel. He instructs us in the function of the various chambers of God’s council, about the role of His royal advisors, the Holy Spirit and about His Son Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, the Spirit of counsel teaches about the triune God and His role in our lives today.<= (The text set in ‘=>’ is based on an explanation from the book ‘Realms of The Kingdom Volume I’, pages 188-190 by Ian Clayton.)

The biblical month of Abib/Nissan is the biblical month in which we position ourselves in gratitude and respect for God’s guidance by His sevenfold spirit to sow into the new cycle. As this is the month of redemption, we ask God to bring us into the complete redemption plan for our life.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm

In connection with the beginning of the first biblical month ‘Nissan/Abib’ in the middle of the cycle of redemption, I was led to the biblical passage from Acts 3:1-10, where it is about the lame man. He sat and begged at the so-called beautiful gate of the temple.

That man was paralyzed from birth, and it can be assumed that the paralytic also sat there during Jesus’ lifetime, since he was carried to this place every day (cf. Acts 3:2).

Acts 3:2:
2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

Putting into Practice the Deeds that One Sees the Heavenly Father Doing

Since Jesus only did what He saw His Heavenly Father do, it can be assumed that the healing of the paralytic was not His commission at that time (cf. John 5:19).

John 5:19:
19 Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. …’

Jesus knew that the day of the healing miracle for the paralyzed man would come because Peter and John later healed the paralyzed man on His behalf (cf. Acts 3:3-8).

Acts 3:3-8:
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, ‘Look at us!’
5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’
7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.
8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

The Greek word used for ‘beautiful’ in reference to the door of the temple at which the paralytic sat is ‘hōrạịos’, meaning ‘timely, punctual, beautiful, wonderful, well-formed’. It is derived from the Greek root word ‘hōra’, which means, among other things, ‘a certain time’ or ‘the right hour’. (Note: part excerpt from the Elberfleder Study Bible on the Greek word ‘hōrạịos – beautiful’ and the word ‘hōra – point in time’ with word key numbers: 5418* and 5417)

Since the Tenakh (Note: Old Testament) is written in Hebrew and the New Testament in its original text is written in Greek, we can receive deeper wisdom and knowledge from it. This is why it was no coincidence that at the crucifixion of Jesus, Pilate placed a sign on the cross in three languages, namely, Aramaic/Hebrew, Latin and Greek, calling and confirming Jesus as the king of the Jews (cf. John 19:19-20 i.c.w. Colossians 2:3).

John 19:19-20:
19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews.
20 Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek.

Colossians 2:3:
… 3 in whom (Note: Christ) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The Beautiful Gate and Passover

In reference to the paralyzed condition of the man at the beautiful gate, the Hebrew word for ‘lame’ reveals that it refers to a significant window of God’s time, which is the feast of ‘Passover’.

The Hebrew word for ‘lame’ is ‘piśśēaḥ’, which root word is ‘pāśaḥ’ and means, among other things, ‘to hop, to skip over, to spare’ and is closely connected to Passover, since the words just mentioned are written in the same arrangement of Hebrew letters (Note: Pe, Samech, Cheth => פסח). (Note: part excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible on the Hebrew word ‘piśśēaḥ – lame’ and ‘pāśaḥ – to pass by, to skip, to spare’ with the word key number 6589*, 6586)

Thus, based on the paralytic’s stay at the ‘beautiful gate’, it shows that he positioned himself inthe correct time frame. In this case, the ‘beautiful gate’ of the temple can be seen as the beginning of the biblical month Nissan/Abib, since this is the first month commanded by God, to which all other biblical months submit in honor (cf. Exodus 12:2; Exodus 13:4).

Exodus 12:2:
2 This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

Exodus 13:4:
4 Today, in the month of Aviv, you are leaving.

Furthermore, based on the word explanation for the Hebrew word for ‘lame – piśśēaḥ’ in a prophetic context, it can be said that the paralytic represents the temporal body of the feast of Passover. Thus, this insight calls us to bring this feast in a Spirit-filled way to the biblical month of Nissan-Abib in the center of the Father’s house (Note: temple; cf. Luke 2:46.49), which includes the celebrating of the love given to us by God, which is Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God (cf. John 3:16 i.c.w. John 1:29).

John 3:16:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 1:29:
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! …’

The Apostolic and Prophetic View

In this context, this requires an apostolic and prophetic view of God’s timing, which is not based on mere tradition, but on the revelatory knowledge we can take from the Torah.

As a result, the paralytic condition dissolves and believers emerge from a cycle of poverty, based on religious tradition into the timing of God’s redemption and prosperity for spirit, soul and body (cf. Acts 3:4-6).

Acts 3:4-6:
4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, ‘Look at us!’
5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’

The lame man could receive his healing, which involved the restoration of Passover according to God’s conception, to become a literal sign and wonder to those around him. But before he could do this, it was necessary for him to look into the apostolic and prophetic light, namely God’s proper understanding of time.

Only in the change of the direction of his gaze he was filled with God’s light and touched by His power, so that he could follow the apostolic command (cf. Acts 3:4.6-7 i.c.w. Luke 11:34a-b).

Acts 3:4.6-7:
4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, ‘Look at us!’ …
6 Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’
7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

Luke 11:34a-b:
34a-b Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. …

We are convinced that the Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ will reveal Himself in the coming time in the facet of ‘Alpha and Omega’, encompassing the dimension of the God as the ‘Ancient of Days’ who is bringing forth new realms of governmental rule for His people for the purpose of establishing righteousness (cf. Revelation 1:8; Revelation 22:13 i.c.w. Daniel 7:9-10).

Revelation 1:8:
8 ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’

Revelation 22:13:
13 I am (Note: Jesus Christ) the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Daniel 7:9-10:
9 ‘As I looked, ‘thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.

Furthermore, the LORD in the form of His ‘time body – Alpha and Omega’ will supernaturally touch people in their temporary time as they move into His biblical time and understanding of His seasons and timing.

As disciples, we need to respond to the apostolic and prophetic call as well as His presence and, like the paralytic, to respond to Peter’s command and enter into God’s time in the form of the temple in order to reveal the love of the Heavenly Father.

In the case of the paralytic at the beautiful gate, the enlightened ‘moments’ of the apostles, together with the ‘moment’ of the lame man, which was unenlightened at that time, horizontally established the victory of Jesus’ cross in the invisible world. The reason is because the lame man had to look to the right and to the left with his eyes in order to look into the four eyes of the apostles.

The Four Eyes and the Door

The number of eyes involved was six, and this fact points first to the new life of man that was to come for him because God created man on the sixth day (cf. Genesis 1:27.31).

Genesis 1:27.31:
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. …
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.

The four eyes of the apostles formed the door for the paralyzed man to enter the higher realm of God, much like John experienced when he saw the door in heaven opened in the book of Revelation (cf. Revelation 4:1).

Revelation 4:1:
1 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’

The number ‘4’ is associated with the Hebrew letter ‘Daleth’, which is connected with an ‘open tent door’ and is also a reference to Jesus Christ, who is the door in order to enter into the provision and presence of God (cf. John 10:9).

John 10:9:
9 I am (Note: Jesus Christ) the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

The coming forth of this paralyzed man into his healing points to the renewed understanding of time related to biblical times and restoration in the love of God. This leads to moving forward in it as well as to bring it into the house of God in order to increase in spiritual intimacy in love for God, yourself, and your neighbor, which means to bring great honor toward God (cf. Matthew 22:37-40 i.c.w. Acts 3:8-10).

Matthew 22:37-40:
37 Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’

Acts 3:8-10:
8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

God’s Call to Go Higher Spiritually and the Potential of the Passover Lamb

At the times when God wants to bring about a change in the body of Christ on earth, it is not left out that spiritual leaders within the body of Christ are also called upon by God to move to a higher level of fellowship and spiritual development in order to produce more fruitfulness for His people (cf. Acts 3:1).

Acts 3:1:
1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer – at three in the afternoon.

As a result, in the lives of spiritual leaders, it is common that corresponding challenges follow in order to bring forth the will and timing of God in the lives of people.

The discipleship of this healed paralyzed man became a sign that animated Peter to preach to the people the mystery of the Passover Lamb, who is Jesus Christ in the form of the Crucified and Resurrected One (cf. Acts 3:12-16).

Acts 3:12-16:
12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: ‘Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.
14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.
15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Amen and Amen.

Introduction

As we as people of God are entering the time of the Passover feast on Friday evening, April 15, 2022, which is connected with the blood of the Lamb of God, the following teaching of apostle Chuck D. Pierce and Robert Heidler is intended to help us to point out the importance of living in the blood of the Lamb, which is Jesus Christ.

CRAZYCHRISTIANS

In Exodus 12:3-14 we read, “The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you when I strike the land of Egypt … This day will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord. Throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.”

As we approach the celebration of PASSOVER we must remember that Passover is a celebration designed by God! This Feast and Event was given to increase our faith and prepare us to enter in the fullness of His blessing! Passover was commanded by God for the Jews in the Old Testament to teach them the importance of redemption by the blood. But it was also observed by Christians in the New Testament to remember and understand God's redeeming work! The Bible tells us it is to be a permanent ordinance. A celebration for all time!

Many Christians don't realize that Passover is just as much a New Testament Feast as an Old Testament Feast! It's all through the New Testament! Jesus and the apostles all celebrated Passover! The original Lord's Supper was a Passover meal! The apostles taught the Gentile churches to celebrate Passover. In 1 Corinthians, Paul wrote to a predominantly Gentile church and said: “Christ OUR Passover Lamb has been slain, therefore let us celebrate the feast!” (see 1 Corinthians 5:7-8)
For hundreds of years, Passover was the most important yearly celebration in the early church!

What makes Passover so important?

Derek Prince once said that the most powerful faith declaration for deliverance is this: “I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb out of the hand of the enemy!” He said that if you can make that declaration in faith, and keep on making it, something will happen. You will be delivered from the power of the enemy! That's really the message of Passover. The Feast of Passover is a faith declaration that we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! It does something in us when we celebrate Passover! When we come together to remember God's great works of redemption, and declare the power of redemption in our lives today, it ALWAYS does something!

Passover is very important to God! But Satan HATES Passover! The enemy has worked diligently to steal Passover away! The good news is: God is restoring Passover. But it is a battle! The battle for Passover is the battle for the blood. Satan wants to give us a bloodless religion, because a bloodless religion has no power! The power is in the blood!

There's always a battle for PASSOVER. We see it in church history!

In the 4th century, when the emperor Constantine tried to merge Christianity and paganism, it sounded like a good deal to many! He legalized Christianity! You could go to church without having to fear being thrown to the lions!

And Constantine didn't mind Christians having a celebration of Jesus' resurrection. But he did have an issue with PASSOVER! He demanded that Christians not celebrate Jesus' resurrection at the time of Passover! At the Council of Nicea (A.D. 325), he declared, "This irregularity [observing Passover] MUST be corrected!"

At the council of Nicea, Constantine outlawed Passover and directed that Christ's death and resurrection be celebrated on “the Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox,”. A time associated with the spring festival of the pagan fertility goddess Ishtar also known as Easter! (That's why in the church today we celebrate the resurrection at Easter instead of Passover!) Constantine's goal was to remove Jesus from the context of Passover!

The Battle Continues!

Many in the church resisted Constantine's edicts, so for many centuries after Constantine, the battle for Passover continued!
In the sixth century, for example, Emperor Justinian sent the Roman armies throughout the empire to enforce the prohibition on Passover! In his attempt to wipe out the “heresy” of Passover, thousands of men, women and children were brutally murdered! Entire cities were massacred for refusing to stop celebrating Passover! (The battle for Passover has had many casualties!) Pressured by the government, the Roman church joined in the attempts to stamp out Passover! Notice some of the decrees passed against Passover by various church councils.

A Curse Pronounced!

THE COUNCIL OF ANTIOCH (A.D. 345) – “If any bishop, presbyter or deacon will dare, after this decree, to celebrate Passover, the council judges them to be anathema from the church. This council not only deposes them from ministry, but also any others who dare to communicate with them.” (The word anathema means “cursed.” The church actually pronounced a curse on Christians who would celebrate Passover!)

THE COUNCIL OF LAODICEA (A.D. 365) – “It is not permitted to receive festivals which are by Jews.”

THE COUNCIL OF AGDE, FRANCE (506) – “Christians MUST NOT take part in Jewish festivals.”

THE COUNCIL OF TOLEDO X (7th century) – Easter must be celebrated at the time set by the decree of Nicea.

The battle for Passover is seen clearly in church history!

That battle against Passover is nothing new! We see the same thing in the Bible: Satan always tries to steal away Passover, because he knows the celebration of the blood releases power! Look what happened in Hezekiah's Day:

Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He repaired and cleansed the temple, tore down the false altars, restored the sacrifices, and Davidic praise. Then Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah, inviting them to come to celebrate Passover. Couriers went throughout Israel and Judah: "People of Israel, return to the Lord." The hand of God was on the people to give them unity of mind to carry out what the king had ordered. A very large crowd of people assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast. They slaughtered the Passover lamb and celebrated the Feast for seven days with great rejoicing, while the Levites sang to the Lord every day, accompanied by instruments of praise. The whole assembly then agreed to celebrate the festival seven more days; so for another seven days they celebrated joyfully. There was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem. The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached Heaven, His holy dwelling place.” (2 Chronicles 29-30)

The same thing was happening in Josiah's Day: “Josiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. In the 18th year of his reign, while repairing the temple, they found the TORAH scroll in the temple." When the king heard the words of the Torah scroll, he tore his robes. He went up to the temple with all the people. He read in their hearing all the words of the Covenant. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant. The king ordered them to remove from the temple all the idols made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He tore down the quarters of the male prostitutes, which were in the temple. The king gave this order to all the people: "Celebrate Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this scroll of the Covenant." In the 18th year of King Josiah, this Passover was celebrated to the Lord in Jerusalem. Not since the days of the judges who led Israel, nor throughout the days of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah, had such a Passover been observed."”(2 Kings 22-23)

We see a biblical pattern! In both of these passages, God's people had drifted far from the Lord and turned to idolatry, and the blessing of God was lost. They turned back to God and sought Him, and the first thing God did was restore Passover! As they turned from pagan idols and celebrated Passover, they were restored to God and experienced great joy and blessing! That's an interesting pattern! Over and over again in the Bible, we discover that Passover had been LOST! Even during the Old Testament era, and even among the Jews, generations lived and died without celebrating Passover.
Why had Passover been lost? Satan had STOLEN it away! Satan always wants to steal Passover! Then, as a new generation turned back to the Lord, and began to read the Bible. They read about Passover for the first time. It seemed strange to them! They said, “We've never done this!” (That's exactly what we see in much of the church today!) But as the Holy Spirit moved on their hearts, they celebrated God's feast of redemption, and God's power and joy were restored!

Why does Satan Hate Passover?

Satan hates Passover because Passover is the celebration of JESUS. When the church gave up Passover, it invented other celebrations of Jesus. That is how we shifted the timing of our celebration to Christmas and Easter. It's not bad to celebrate Jesus on those other days! (It's always good to celebrate Jesus!) But the celebration of Jesus that God gave us is called Passover!

The New Testament tells us that Jesus IS the Passover Lamb! When John introduced Jesus He said, “Behold the LAMB!” Paul said: “Christ, our PASSOVER LAMB has been slain!” Celebrating Passover IS celebrating Jesus! As the Passover Lamb, He shed His blood to redeem us from the enemy! When His blood is “on the doorpost” of your life, God delivers you from the destroyer! So if you understand Passover, you automatically understand what Jesus did!

On the original Passover night, everything pointed to Jesus! Every father in Israel was told to stand at the door of his house with a basin containing the blood of the lamb. He was to dip a branch of hissop into the blood and smear the blood on the two doorposts of the house. Then he was to repeat the action and put the blood on the lintel over the door.
If you can picture the motion he made with that blood-soaked branch of hissop, you'll see he was making the sign of the cross!

On Passover night, every father in Israel made the sign of the cross in the blood of the lamb. And a result, the family experienced redemption from the power of the enemy! God's deliverance always comes by His cross and by His blood. That's what Passover celebrates! You see, it was not by accident that Jesus died on Passover! God could have had Jesus die any time of year! But it was God's will for Him to die at Passover, so we would recognize that He is the Passover Lamb!

Passover is so important to God that He chose to have the most important event in history (the death and resurrection of Jesus) take place at Passover! God went to great lengths to CONNECT the sacrifice of Jesus to Passover. (This is interesting: Constantine's goal was to separate the work of Jesus from Passover. God's goal was to connect Jesus' work to Passover!) God wants us to think of Jesus in the context of the Passover celebration!

The Timetable of Passover

It's interesting to compare the timetable of Jesus' crucifixion with the Passover celebration. According to the Torah, at the time of Passover a number of events had to take place in a specific order, and at very specific times..

1. The Passover Lamb had to be selected on a specific day. Exodus 12 instructs that the Passover lamb be chosen on the 10th day of 1st month. By the time of Jesus, only lambs from Bethlehem were considered eligible to serve as Passover lambs. So the lamb born in Bethlehem was chosen and brought into Jerusalem from the east (down the Mount of Olives) and entered the city through the sheep gate. On the 10th day of 1st month Jesus, the Lamb born in Bethlehem, came down the Mount of Olives and entered Jerusalem through the sheep gate. (This is called His "triumphal entry!") As He entered, the people waved palm branches and shouted "Blessed is he that comes in the name of the LORD! Save us, son of David!" By mass acclamation Jesus is designated as Israel's Messiah! The crowds had chosen their Passover Lamb!

2. The Lamb then had to be examined. The Torah instructed that once the lamb was chosen, it had to be carefully examined for blemishes. Only a perfect, spotless and unblemished lamb would suffice for the Passover. After arriving in Jerusalem, Jesus went to the Temple to teach. While there, He was approached by the Pharisees, Sadducees, Herodians and the teachers of the Law.
Each group posed difficult questions, trying to trap him. Essentially, they were looking for any blemish which might disqualify Him as Messiah. But no one could find fault with Him. He was without blemish.

3. The Leaven (impurity) must be cast out. Torah instructs that before the feast, all leaven (impurity) must be cast out of every Israelite home. Each mother took a candle and searched out impurity, removing it from her house. This regulation is still observed today. Passover is a time to cleanse every house. Every observant Jewish family carefully cleans their house before Passover. Every trace of impurity is removed. After Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, He entered the Temple and cast out the moneychangers. He was following the biblical instruction to prepare for Passover by cleansing His Father's house.

4. The Lamb is taken to the altar for public display. On the morning of the 14th day of 1st month, when all has been set in order, the lamb was led out to the altar. At 9 AM that morning, the lamb was bound to the altar and put on public display for all to see!
On the morning of the 14th day of the 1st month, when all had been fulfilled, Jesus was led out to Calvary. At 9 AM that morning, just as the lamb was being bound to the altar. Jesus was nailed to the cross and put on public display at Calvary!

5. The Lamb was slain at a specific time. At exactly 3 p.m. the high priest ascended the altar. As another priest blew a shofar on the temple wall, the high priest cuts the throat of the sacrificial Lamb, and declared, "IT IS FINISHED!" At 3 p.m. on that high holy day, at the moment the Passover lamb was killed, Jesus cried with a loud voice, “IT IS FINISHED,” and gave up His spirit! In Greek, “It is finished” is “tetelistai”! It means, “The debt has been paid in full!”

The Celebration of Jesus!

Do you see how God chose to connect Jesus with Passover? It's no wonder John introduces Jesus by saying, “Behold the Lamb!” It's no wonder Paul writes “Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been slain!” Passover is all about Jesus! Do you see that Passover is all about JESUS?

He came as the LAMB of God!
His blood redeems US!
By His blood judgment turned away!
By His blood the power of the enemy is broken!
By His blood we are released from bondage and oppression.
By His blood we are set free to enter into God's Promise!
Passover is the "JESUS" Celebration!

The more you understand Passover, the more you appreciate Jesus! If you don't understand Passover, you have a hard time fully understanding what Jesus did! As you celebrate Passover, you are declaring your faith in the power of His blood and His redemption. That's why one of strangest things in world is that Christians all over the world have accepted Satan's lie that Passover is not a "Christian" thing! Satan tries to steal away Passover, because he knows the celebration of the blood releases power! When the celebration of Passover was stolen away, the power left! But when Passover is restored. The power RETURNS!

The Good News is, God is RESTORING Passover!

All over the world. churches are again celebrating Passover! And the POWER is returning! We invite you to celebrate the power of Jesus blood! We invite you to join with Christians all over the world in the restoration of Passover. Join with us in proclaiming: “We are REDEEMED by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, out of the hand of the enemy!”
