We, as the people of God, need to take care not to let the enemy deprive us of joy, since this is associated with strength. This strength is what we need in order to enter more deeply into our promise in Christ (cf. Nehemiah 8:10).

 

10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

 

Since Jesus Christ said that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God, there is a spiritual principle to be discerned in this, how to increase in the joy of the Lord (cf. Matthew 4:4).

 

4 Jesus answered, “It is written (cf. Deuteronomy 8:3): ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

 

 

In the prophetic context, fat and sweet foods are an allegorical use for spirit-filled messages filled with revelatory truth, which help to increase in the joy of Christ Jesus and thus in strength.

 

This strength is essential because it helps to restrain the adversary and to drive him to flee. Here sweetness plays an extraordinary role, which is made clear by the statement of Jonathan, the son of Saul in the midst of the battle against the Philistines, but also by the revelatory truth of the Word of God in the form of a scroll which is to be eaten (cf. 1 Samuel 14:27 i.c.w. Ezekiel 3:3; Revelation 10:9-10).

 

27 But Jonathan had not heard that his father had bound the people with the oath, so he reached out the end of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it into the honeycomb. He raised his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened.

 

3 Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

 

9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’”

10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour (note: bitter).

 

The sweetness of the Word of God, which contains revelatory truth, has the effect that we recognize the things that God wants to reveal and prophesies according to what we see (cf. Ezekiel 3:4 i.c.w. Revelation 10:11).

 

4 He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the people of Israel and speak my words to them.

 

11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”

 

The taste of the revelatory Word of God, causes supernatural sight (cf. Psalm 34:8).

 

8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

 

The revelatory truth of the Word of God can also take place through the cooperation of angels, as the revelatory truth works from the outside inwards with the aim of prophesying into the predetermined field of commission in the earthly realm and its scope of persons who are involved (cf. Revelation 10:8-11 i.c.w. Hebrews 1:14).

 

8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’”

10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.

11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”

 

14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

 

 

The eyes of God are also sent out to strengthen those with revelation who follow the Lord with all their heart (cf. 2 Chronicles 16:9a).

 

9a For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. …

 

When the Word of God speaks of the eyes of the LORD, these are connected with the seven Spirits of God, who serve from the structure of the Lamb of God. This includes the temporary time of Jesus on earth and His victory and triumph over the enemy, but also the time frame of Passover (cf. Revelation 5:6 i.c.w. Isaiah 11:2).

 

6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

 

2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him – the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord – …

 

The sign of the Lamb is, among other things, an indication that Jesus Christ is revealing Himself in His kingdom government, because He was previously proclaimed as a lion by one of the twenty-four elders who, in the structure of the Lamb, is authorized to open encoded prophecy (cf. Revelation 5:5).

 

5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

 

Jesus Christ is our King and our Lord. It may sound unusual to some, but the Lamb of God is full of the attributes of Revelation (cf. Revelation 5:6).

 

These attributes of the Lamb of God are as following:

It is the structure of the Lamb of God that was slain in the supernatural realm that enables to receive sealed revelation in the form of a scroll from the Father (cf. Revelation 5:7).

 

7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

 

If we as people of God don't live in Jesus Christ as the Crucified and Risen One, and if we do not recognize Passover as the starting point and foundation of the birth of the new time, as well as the ‘leading feast’ of the three feasts instructed by God, we should acknowledge the first biblical feast in His calendar with a spiritual understanding, we are inhibited in the realm of revelatory truth.

 

This is simply because of the reason that Passover is the time frame and the place of origin of revelatory truth leading to freedom and promise, and makes us grow in substance in the Spirit, so that our words have greater impact on the earth (cf. 1 Corinthians 5:7b; 2 Corinthians 5:15 i.c.w. Exodus 12:1-7; Exodus 23:14-17).

 

… 7b For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

 

15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

 

1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month (note: Nissan/Abib) is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.

4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat.

5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.

6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

 

14 “Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me.

15 “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread (note: Passover); for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Aviv, for in that month you came out of Egypt. “No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

16 “Celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crops you sow in your field (note: Shavuot). “Celebrate the Festival of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field (note: Sukkot).

17 “Three times a year all the men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord.

 

Since life is in the blood and we have access through the blood of Jesus into the supernatural realm where the Father reigns. This reveals to us the significance of the presence of the slaughtered Lamb of God in order to act legitimately in the realm of the Spirit as Son of God in the Sonship of Christ (cf. Leviticus 17:11a i.c.w. Hebrews 10:19-20).

 

11a For the life of a creature is in the blood, …

 

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, …

 

 

According to the eyes of God, it is no coincidence that man was created by God in the natural realm with two eyes, which are in the face, indicating the spiritual relationship in revelatory power.

 

Moreover, the two eyes of man can also be considered as an indicator of revelation in the form of wisdom and knowledge, which have their seat in the sonship of Christ and can only be found as treasures in this spiritual sphere (cf. Ephesians 1:17 i.c.w. Colossians 2:2-3). Without sonship in Christ, these treasures remain unrecognized and uncomprehended.

 

17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

 

2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

 

The eyes of God are connected with the structure of the Lamb of God, and also the LORD in the discovery of the Promised Land by the people of Israel, under the leadership of Moses and Joshua, shows the value of two spies as well as how important it is to proceed in the power of revelation.

 

Only that kind of progress within sonship and its revelatory power enables us to discern things with a spiritual perspective and to bring to light what is hidden in the form of treasures of these two (cf. Numbers 14:6-9; Joshua 2:1 i.c.w. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16).

 

6 Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.

8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.

9 Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

 

1 Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

 

12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

 

This power of revelation is rooted in the love of God (Greek: ‘agạpē’), which is also evident in the presence of Eldad (meaning ‘God loves’) and Medad (meaning ‘love, darling’) in the camp of Israel during the outpouring of the Spirit, which was accompanied by prophetic anointing (cf. Numbers 11:25-26).

 

25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied – but did not do so again.

26 However, two men, whose names were Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but did not go out to the tent. Yet the Spirit also rested on them, and they prophesied in the camp.

 

Without building on the foundation of God's love, revelation in itself is indecisive (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2).

 

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

 

 

It is important that we, like Rahab in Jericho, longingly and with a pure heart attitude, desire to be visited by wisdom and knowledge, just as the two sent spies by Joshua who entered the house of Rahab. She welcomed and protected them in her present ‘state of revelation’ (note: on the roof) with the purpose to shine from a higher level of revelation from the presence of the slain Lamb of God (note: from the mountains) into her present and imminent future. It was Rahab giving advice to the two spies, as she advised them to go and stay in the mountains for three days (cf. Joshua 2:1.4.6.15-16.22 i.c.w. Mark 8:31).

 

1 Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there. …

4 But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. …

6 (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.) …

15 So she let them down by a rope through the window, for the house she lived in was part of the city wall.

16 She said to them, “Go to the hills so the pursuers will not find you. Hide yourselves there three days until they return, and then go on your way.” …

22 When they left, they went into the hills and stayed there three days, until the pursuers had searched all along the road and returned without finding them.

 

31 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.

 

In order to claim God's predetermined plan for our lives, which involves entering deeper into our promise (cf. Ephesians 2:8-10), we need to apply the blood of Christ in our conscience (cf. Hebrews 9:14).

 

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

 

14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

 

The application of the blood of Christ in our consciences means that we judge things with a purified view and are enabled to enter our promise with certainty, as well as identifying ourselves with the movement of the one new man in Christ, just as Rahab who dwelt in the midst of Israel after the conquest of Jericho (cf. Joshua 2:18-21 i.c.w. Joshua 6:22-25; Ephesians 2:13-18).

 

… 18 unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family into your house.

19 If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them.

20 But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.”

21 “Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.” So she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

 

22 Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her.”

23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.

24 Then they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the Lord’s house.

25 But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho – and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

 

13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

 

This deeper recognition of God's wisdom and knowledge as sons, of whom Christ is the firstborn, in the love of the Father, brings about the joy of the Lord to live daily in the revelatory realm of His presence and to have strength within.

 

Thus, at any time in challenging times and circumstances of change, we can recognize the will of God and enjoy the strength we have from Him alone. This joy is a form of pure worship in the presence of the Lamb of God, who leads us in triumph and makes us take the promised ‘land’.
