The Two Prodigal Sons - The Old And The New Time

The Turning Letters

Lately the Lord spoke to me that letters within a word will begin to turn to shape a new word. While I read the story about the parable of the two prodigal sons in Luke 15:11-32 the Holy Spirit emphasized the verse 20 in the German version where it is written, that the young son got up and went to his father. As the father saw his son he went to him and fell on his neck and kissed him.
The used German word for “went” is “lief” and for “fell” is “fiel”.

Luke 15:20:
20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Look And Embrace!

The spirit of prophecy revealed by this above mentioned verse that an approaching process has come to an end and a new begins.
It is the time to stop “walking” and to come into the place to look and embrace the things that God brings into our arms.
It is about to catch God's presence and entering into the catching up process within God's time cycle (make up time)!
In a prophetic context it means for us today, that the younger time (younger prodigal son) enters into the older time (older prodigal son) to bring renewing, refreshing and joy into the house of God.

The Movement Of The Younger Time

The parable of the prodigal sons shows us that the younger time got into movement as an adverse circumstance began to prophesy to it.
It were the pods of the pigs that prophesied to the younger prodigal son so that he began to remember the good times in the house of his father (see Luke 15:15-18).

Luke 15:15-18:
15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.
16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!
18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

The Inner Emptiness Of The Younger Prodigal Son

It was an inner emptiness in the younger son which drove him to squander his given inheritance of his father to thereby produce a short-term peace in his soul which, however, did not last long. Furthermore one of the reasons why the younger son left the house of his father may have been that his older brother enslaved him day by day with the message "to become righteous only by works" (note: You have to do this ... You have to do that ...) in front of the eyes of the father.

The younger brother was not in true love relationship with his father, because he didn't really understand the mercy of his father, which becomes clear by his statement where he said, that he was not worthy to be called son anymore and wanted to be in the position of the hired servants of his father (see Luke 15:19).

Luke 15:19:
19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’

The Lack In The Young And Old Time

Spoken in a prophetic context, the circumstance of the younger prodigal son shows us that there was lack within the young time which had to be filled with the value (feast) of the Heavenly Fathers eternal time.
Similarly, there was lack in the old time because the older prodigal son who was near to the Father's house couldn't as well understand rightly the Father's love.
He was unaware of his paternal inheritance and didn't recognize the potential of the available blessings while he lived all the years in the house of his Father.
This becomes clear by his angry reaction as his younger brother returned home to the Father's house (see Luke 15:25-32).

Luke 15:25-32:
25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on.
27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him.
29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.
30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31 “ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ ”

To speak in a prophetic context it means that religious legality blocked the older time to be renewed refreshed and strengthened by the appointed time – feast in God's eternal time cycle.

The Importance Of The Real Relationship With God

It is important for us as people of God to live in a continual love relationship with the Heavenly Father which is expressed by obedience towards His word (see John 14:21).

John 14:21:
21 Whoever has my (Jesus Christ) commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

Bethel – The House Of God

The Hebrew word for “house of God” is “bêt-'ēl”.
Bethel is connected to the place of the supernatural visitation of God where God blessed Jacob and gave him a dream where he saw a ladder standing between earth and heaven and where angels of God were ascending and descending. Jacob renamed this place after the divine visitation from Luz (almond tree) to Bethel (house of God). (see Genesis 28:10-12.16-19).

Genesis 28:10-12.16-19:
10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran.
11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.
12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. …
16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”
17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”
18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it.
19 He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz.

God desires to show us His presence, plans and blessings if we are living in His house.
Essentially it doesn't matter where we are in our environment but being first spiritually living in the house of God.
If we live in the house of the Heavenly Father, we move with God's living breath as Adam did. We carry His living breath which includes His Holy Spirit, His longing, His life and His being (see Genesis 2:7 i.c.w. 1 Corinthians 15:45-49).

Genesis 2:7:
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

1 Corinthians 15:45-49:
45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.
47 The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.
48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.
49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

God therefore put into us His desire and His life.
It is the desire of God to have living relationship with us and that we maintain this relationship of life with Him.

The Sign Of The High Priest Joshua

In link with the life circumstance of the younger prodigal son from the parable mentioned in Luke 15 exists a similar situation in the Old Testament which is written in the scroll of the prophet Zechariah (see Zechariah 3:1-10).

Zechariah 3:1-10:
1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan (adversary/resistance) standing at his right side to accuse him.
2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.
4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”
5 Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.
6 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: 7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
8 “ ‘Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch.
9 See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.
10 “ ‘In that day each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your vine and fig tree,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

The prophet Zechariah had a vision where he saw the high priest with the name Joshua (“JAHWE is help!”) standing before the angel of the Lord while the presence of resistance was present by accusing Joshua.

The high priest was dressed in filthy clothes while he stood before the angel.
At this point resistance tried to link in with the present circumstance of the high priest Joshua that was represented by the filthy clothes.
The identity of Joshua was to show the help/support of God to the assigned people.

The devil tried to stop Joshua by intermingle accusation with his made sin of the past.
It was Joshua who decided to come into the presence of God to get a renewed mindset by the cleansing of the accusative thoughts of the one who resists God.

Because Joshua came into God's presence, the accuser got rebuked by the angel of the Lord.
It was the power of the chosen/promised territory (Jerusalem – foundation of peace) by God for him which released the righteous rebuke against the accuser.

Joshua got cleansed by the forgiving power of God and received fine garments and a new turban by the Lord.
The Hebrew word for “turban” is “ẓānîṗ” and is derived from the root word “ẓānaṗ” which means “winding, to tie something around”.
Spiritually it implies that our minds (heads) must make a turn toward the direction of the thoughts of the Lord and His truth (see Isaiah 55:8-9 i.c.w. Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:23-24).

Isaiah 55:8-9:
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:23-24:
… 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

After the renewing process by the Lord the high priest Joshua was called by God to walk from this point on in obedience to Him and to keep His requirements.

The result of it would be that Joshua would govern the house of God and administer His courts as well to stand in the place of the saints who are standing before His throne. Through this divine intervention Joshua and his seated associates became a sign and a wonder (Hebrew “môṗēt”) to direct to the offspring power of Jesus Christ.

It is about the young branch that grows out of the strong old branch and directs to the precious stone that is linked to the remission of sin of the land/nation in a single day.
This day is a new season of divine relationship of saints under the shadow of Israel through the biblical/Hebrew mindset (see John 1:47-48).

John 1:47-51:
47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.”
48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”
49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”
50 Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.”
51 He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.”

The scripture of Zechariah 3:1-10 reveals that single things pave the way for great impact!

Amen and Amen.
