The Month of Kislev, a Time to Receive Dreams -Part I of II-

Note:
The following message is the first part of a teaching that consists of two parts and we highly recommend to read the message chronologically.

The Month of Kislev and the Importance of Dreams

We are currently in the month Kislev, which is connected with the tribe of Benjamin. It is a time to receive dreams from God, which is why I would like to share revelation referring to the meaning of different vehicles of prophecy.

Why Kislev is connected with receiving dreams is due to the fact that Benjamin carries the characters of a wolf who devours prey in the morning and shares prey at night (see Genesis 49:27).

Genesis 49:27:
27 “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.”

A wolf is usually active at night and is the largest predator in the family of dogs. In the Word of God, Caleb (note: means “dog”) was one of the spies of Israel to whom God gave permission to see the Promised Land (see Numbers 14:30).

Numbers 14:30:
30 Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

This explanation makes clear what kind of potential the Lord has put into this time, because it is God's desire to lead us deeper into the land of our promise by the power of prophecy (e.g. through dreams, visions, …).

What is Prophecy?

Prophecy is information we receive from God to give personal direction or orientation through revelation (see 1 Corinthians 14:3). Prophecy carries a high essence of the light of eternity and serves therein to give Jesus Christ more substance in the lives of believers (see 2 Peter 1:19).

1 Corinthians 14:3:
3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

2 Peter 1:19:
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

It is very important to make sure that we do not reject God's prophecy, but test it according to God's standards (see 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21).

1 Thessalonians 5:20-21:
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

The Testimony of Jesus

Revelation 19:10e makes it clear that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, which means that Jesus as Lord of prophetic character speaks personally to His people.

Revelation 19:10e:
“… 10e For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Therefore, it is also essential that we as God's people work in the power of the testimony of Jesus.

Symbols of Prophecy

In the prophetic context, prophecy can correspond with the symbols of the eagle, its wings and also with eyes.

The eagle is called the king of the air and is able to perceive its prey from a three-dimensional realm and to stay there. It also has the ability to look directly into the sunlight without being blended. This makes it clear to us that the prophetic anointing is familiar with the glory of God.

From Isaiah 40:31 it can be seen that the prophetic anointing brings renewal to the inner man (note: spirit and soul) in order to go deeper into the promise with Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 40:31:
… 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

In order to operate in the prophetic anointing, faith is required (see Romans 12:6b).

Romans 12:6b:
… 6b If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; …

Furthermore, the prophetic anointing gives divine protection, comfort (see Exodus 19:4; Psalm 91:4) and overview as well as rescue from the enemy's attack (see Revelation 12:14).

Exodus 19:4:
4 ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.

Psalm 91:4:
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Revelation 12:14:
14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

In connection with the symbol of the eyes in the Word of God and its position, it is unsubtle how the power of prophecy is channeled or structured in order to pursue a certain goal (see 2 Chronicles 16:9a; Zechariah 3:9; Zechariah 4:10; Ezekiel 1:18; Ezekiel 10:12; Revelation 4:8; Revelation 5:6).

2 Chronicles 16:9a:
9a For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. …

Zechariah 3:9:
9 See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.

Zechariah 4:10:
10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone1 in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

Ezekiel 1:18:
18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.

Ezekiel 10:12:
12 Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes, as were their four wheels.

Revelation 4:8:
8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”

Revelation 5:6:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

Depending on the positioning of the eyes, the characteristics of the prophecy of the Lord can be recognized as:
  1. ranging eyes of the Lord => words of wisdom and knowledge based on the character of the Word of God
  2. seven eyes of the LORD on the stone => revelatory truth about the power of forgiveness in the word of God
  3. eyes in the rims => revelatory truth about the movement of the governmental authority of God
  4. eyes in the wings => revelatory truth about the prophetic anointing and the principle of divine covering
  5. eyes in the wings of the lion => revelatory truth about God's royal-apostolic being as well as the Spirit of the LORD and the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD
  6. eyes in the wings of the bull => revelatory truth about God's priestly nature and the Spirit of Might
  7. eyes in the wings of man => revelatory truth about God's being as legislator (note: giver of the word) and as the Spirit of Understanding and the Spirit of the Counsel
  8. eyes in the wings of the flying eagle => revelatory truth about the oracles of God (note: Urim/Thummim; = decisions of the Holy Spirit; see Exodus 28:30 i.c.w. John 16:13) as well as the Spirit of Wisdom and the Spirit of Knowledge
The Foundation of the Prophets

In a prophetic context, if asked to describe the foundation of the prophets, I would associate their foundation to the sapphire and the emerald, which are blue and green. The reason is because the prophetic presence of the Lord is connected to earthly and spiritual provision (see Exodus 24:9-11 in conjunction with Psalm 23:2).

Exodus 24:9-11:
9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

Psalm 23:2:
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, …

Psalm 23:2 mentions the colors of the sapphire and the emerald in secret, speaking of green pastures and quiet waters.

When Jesus, for example, multiplied the five barley loaves and two fishes, He first had the people lie down on green grass. After the multiplication had taken place, they recognized Jesus as the prophet. This recognition of people is due to the fact that it was known to them that the anointing of the prophets of God was meant to bring about multiplication as it was with Elijah and Elisha (see John 6:9-14 i.c.w. 1 Kings 17:12-16; 2 Kings 4:2-6; 2 Kings 4:42-44).

John 6:9-14 (Bread and fish multiplication by Jesus):
9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).
11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”
13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.
14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

1 Kings 17:12-16 (oil/flour multiplication by Elijah):
12 “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread – only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it – and die.”
13 Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.
14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’ ”
15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.
16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

2 Kings 4:2-6 (oil multiplication by Elischa):
2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.
4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.
6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

2 Kings 4:42-44 (Bread multiplication by Elischa):
42 A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.
43 “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’ ”
44 Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

Now, looking closely at the sapphire according to the Word of God, it is clear that in the Tenakh (note: acronym for the five books of Moses, the books of the prophets, and the other books of the Word of God) it is related to the presence of the Lord reigning on the throne (see Exodus 24:10; Ezekiel 1:26; Ezekiel 10:1)

Exodus 24:10:
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

Ezekiel 1:26:
26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

Ezekiel 10:1:
1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

Thus the sapphire can also be a reference to the written prophetic word (note: Greek “logos”) in the Tenakh.

The emerald according to the Word of God, is connected to the presence of God on the throne as described in the New Testament (see Revelation 4:3).

Revelation 4:3:
3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.

Therefore, the emerald can also be a reference to the revelation of God for this time or represents a spoken prophetic word in this time (note: Greek “rhema”).
When there is a mixture of the colors of sapphire (note: blue) and emerald (note: green), a turquoise color emerges. Turquoise is related to the wheels of the chariot of the Lord's throne in the Word of God (see Ezekiel 10:9).

Ezekiel 10:9 (Luther translation):
9 And I looked, and behold, four wheels stood by the cherubim, one wheel by each cherub, and the wheels looked like a turquoise, …

The color turquoise in this context describes the movement of the prophetic word of God in its written and spoken form to reveal His eternal governmental mandate in order for Jesus Christ to increase in the hearts of men as the morning star (see 2 Peter 1:19-21).

2 Peter 1:19-21:
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

The Two Types of Prophets

According to the Word of God, these two types of prophets exist:
  1. the seer (Hebrew “rō`äh”): The seer is a type of prophet who often receives the Word of God through dreams and visions. Believers who operate in this field of anointing receive revelations from God more visually than auditory. Samuel and Iddo are examples of such a type of prophet (see 1 Samuel 9:9-11; 2 Chronicles 12:15).
and
  1. the prophet (Hebrew “nābî”): These are believers who act in this field of anointing and who perceive the revelation in an auditory way in order to speak it as a word. Nathan is an example of such a type of prophet (see 1 Kings 1:22).
Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,
