A spiritual battle is raging in these times over God’s pure communication, which He expresses on earth through the power of Jesus’ testimony — which is the spirit of prophecy (cf. Revelation 19:10e).
Revelation 19:10e:
… 10e For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.’
It is no coincidence that this statement was made by a messenger said to be sent by God, who clearly bore within himself the glorious presence of God, so that John fell down before him to worship him. In his humility, this messenger pointed to God, to whom alone worship is due (cf. Revelation 19:10a-d i.c.w. Revelation 22:8-9).
Revelation 19:10a-d:
10a-d At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, ‘Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! …
Revelation 22:8-9:
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me.
9 But he said to me, ‘Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!’
We must understand that when exercising the gift of prophecy — or when the prophetic dynamic is at work — it is always important that we move forward humbly and selflessly in Christ Jesus.
Humility and Selflessness
It is the realm of humility that carries within itself the potential for greatness, which manifests at the right time through the will of God combined with the power of grace (cf. Proverbs 3:34 i.c.w. 1 Peter 5:5b-6).
Proverbs 3:34:
34 He mocks proud mockers but shows favour to the humble and oppressed.
1 Peter 5:5b-6:
…5b All of you, clothe yourselves with humility towards one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble.’
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Acts 11:27-28a states that prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch, one of whom is named—Agabus.
Acts 11:27-28a:
27 During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28a One of them, named Agabus, stood up …
As people of God, it is essential for us to work together with the prophets and prophetesses who have pure and humble hearts, and in doing so, to receive God’s dominion authority from the center of His peace (Note: Jerusalem). In this way, the LORD can reveal Himself through the power of His righteousness (Note: Antioch), as Romans 12:19 in conjunction with Hebrews 10:30-31 reveals to us.
Romans 12:19:
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.
Hebrews 10:30-31:
30 For we know him who said, ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ and again, ‘The Lord will judge his people.’
31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
The prophetically designated channel of transmission, in the form of Agabus, carries the power to overcome obstacles and enter the eighth day predestined by God — which is, for us, the first new day. This goes hand in hand with the Father’s joy and His feast of glory, which is Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles.
In the realm of Jesus’ testimony, there is a great triumphant laughter, because the Holy Spirit hides the revelation from the wise and the intelligent and reveals it to those who, as children of God, are moving forward in the sonship of Christ (cf. Luke 10:21-22 i.c.w. Romans 8:14).
Luke 10:21-22:
21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
22 ‘All things have been committed to me by my Father. No-one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no-one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’
Romans 8:14:
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children [Note: sons] of God.
Selflessness in Christ Jesus is required, just as the unnamed prophets descending from Jerusalem reveal, while the prophetic light of Agabus —‘locust, the Father’s joy, beloved, or feast’—from the center of government and peace —Jerusalem— is highlighted by his being named in Antioch which means ‘avenger, persecutor’.
The Hunger for God’s Word and Worship
The Holy Spirit is instilling in His people a hunger for the Word of God unlike anything we have ever experienced, in order to separate the sheep from the goats (cf. Amos 8:11 i.c.w. Matthew 25:32b-33).
Amos 8:11:
11 ‘The days are coming,’ declares the Sovereign Lord, ‘when I will send a famine [Note: hunger] through the land – not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine [Note: hunger] of hearing the words of the Lord.
Matthew 25:32b-33:
… 32b, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
This lays the foundation for ensuring a pure prophetic flow among God’s people, so that no one adorns themselves with their prophetic gift or takes center stage but rather gives glory to God alone (cf. 2 Peter 1:19-21 i.c.w. Psalm 119:105).
2 Peter 1:19-21:
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 119:105:
105 Your word (Note: in the form of the spoken word => Hebrew: ‘dābar’; Greek: ‘rhẹma’) is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
This leads to a higher quality of worship in spirit and in truth, which is accompanied by a deep devotion that confronts all that exists in deception (cf. John 4:24).
John 4:24:
‘… 24 God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.’
This truth is grounded in the Word of God, which leads to a stronger prophetic presence and resembles the principle found in Acts 21:7-11.
Acts 21:7-11:
7 We continued our voyage from Tyre and landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and sisters and stayed with them for a day.
8 Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven.
9 He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
10 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, ‘The Holy Spirit says, “In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.” ’
This prophetic presence flows from the worship of God, who is Spirit. It descends into our sphere of responsibility and authority (Note: represented by the house of Philip in Caesarea), accelerates our spiritual progress, and thereby saves us time or enables us to gain time more easily. This is connected to the value of ‘redeeming the time’ which is delivered from the influence of evil in this age (cf. Ephesians 5:16).
Ephesians 5:16:
… 16 making the most of every opportunity [Note: redeeming the time], because the days are evil.
In the case of the aforementioned descending, prophetic presence from the realm of God’s throne room — represented by Judea, which signifies worship (cf. Revelation 4:8-11) —a symbiosis occurs with the prophetic anointing present in the ecclesia.
The Twofold Prophetic Presence
The prophetic anointing present in the ecclesia is represented by the four prophetic daughters of Philip, resulting in an intensification of God’s communication—the Spirit is upon the earth.
To reach this point spiritually, we must allow the Holy Spirit to bring the ‘voyage’ to an end. This marks the conclusion of a period of spiritual training for us, enabling us to apply what we have learned practically in faith and to move forward in maturity, rather than continuing to be ‘carried’—which implies spiritual passivity.
When we allow this to happen and put what we have learned into practice, the hand of the LORD moves over us and draws us, through the present apostolic truth, into a spiritual realm of the promise of the so-called ‘vine of God’ (cf. John 15:5).
John 15:5:
5 ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. …’
This refers to advancing and acting within the present atmosphere of the Spirit and within the territory predestined for us by God (cf. Joshua 1:3).
Joshua 1:3:
3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.
This results in a manifestation of God’s glory that removes ‘carnality’ from God’s people. It is the power of God that overturns the ‘thrones’ to draw attention to His glory coming from the side (cf. 1 Samuel 6:13-14a).
1 Samuel 6:13-14a:
13 Now the people of Beth Shemesh were harvesting their wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they rejoiced at the sight.
14a The cart came to the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and there it stopped beside a large rock.
This results in great joy, which goes hand in hand with God’s righteousness and His salvation (cf. Malachi 4:2).
Malachi 4:2:
2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
The glory of God contains within itself a pure white light that is twofold.
The Pure White Light
This pure white light resembles the white fine linen robe and the linen ephod that David wore (cf. 1 Chronicles 15:27).
1 Chronicles 15:27
27 Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the musicians, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod.
This refers to the luminous presence of the jasper, which radiates from God’s throne room and encompasses God’s essence, accompanied by red light in the form of the sardius (cf. Revelation 4:3a i.c.w. Song of Songs 5:10).
Revelation 4:3a:
3a And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby [Note: sardius]. …
Song of Songs 5:10:
10 My beloved is radiant [Note: white] and ruddy, outstanding among ten thousand.
According to Song of Songs 5:10, the beloved and bride bear witness to her beloved and groom in a way that is significant in this context. Here, the beloved and bride makes it clear that her beloved and groom stands out and is distinguished from among many thousands by the colors white and red.
These thousands encompass the realm of thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand before the throne of God. Furthermore, this measure is an indication of the presence of the ministering spirits, or angels, over whom the Lord has authority (cf. Hebrews 1:4-6 i.c.w. Daniel 7:10).
Hebrews 1:4-6:
4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father’? Or again, ‘I will be his Father, and he will be my Son’?
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, ‘Let all God’s angels worship him.’
Daniel 7:10:
10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.
It is Jesus Christ who always stands at the forefront as the light and love of God the Father and stands out from all powerful spiritual presences in the supernatural realm (cf. John 1:4-5; John 8:12 i.c.w. John 3:16; Revelation 21:23).
John 1:4-5:
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 8:12:
12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’
John 3:16:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Revelation 21:23:
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
Prophetic Revelation from the Throne Room of God
This means that prophetic revelation should not come from our own minds and emotions, but from the presence in the Throne Room of God. There, our primary focus should be on His sovereign nature, which is revealed in light of various colors—specifically, as already mentioned, white and red, which John describes as jasper and sardius.
It is the Bride of the Lamb who is entitled, like David, to wear pure, white linen— that is, byssus— which embodies the nature of God. The white, pure linen is revealed through us, the ecclesia, in the form of works of righteousness on earth, as we do what is righteous according to the Word of God (cf. Revelation 19:8).
Revelation 19:8:
‘… 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.’ (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)
Furthermore, the pure white linen is a reference to delving deeper into the Father as the Almighty and drawing nearer to Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God (cf. Ezekiel 44:17-18 i.c.w. Revelation 21:22-23).
Ezekiel 44:17-18:
17 ‘ “When they enter the gates of the inner court, they are to wear linen clothes; they must not wear any woollen garment while ministering at the gates of the inner court or inside the temple.
18 They are to wear linen turbans on their heads and linen undergarments round their waists. They must not wear anything that makes them perspire.
Revelation 21:22-23:
22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
God’s Gracious Presence and His Covenant
God’s gracious presence and His covenant, on the other hand, are manifested in the form of the rainbow and the green color of the emerald that encircles His throne as we know (cf. Revelation 4:2b.3b).
Revelation 4:2b.3b:
… 2b and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.
… 3b A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.
There is a significant interplay of three different colors, each associated with a gemstone. This interplay forms a lasting order of revelation in the spiritual realm, based on the principle from Ecclesiastes 4:12.
Ecclesiastes 4:12:
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
This implies that our focus should be primarily on the LORD who sits on the throne as a reference to the purity of His nature and character, His heart, and His love and only secondarily on His throne, which signifies the seat of authority. It is therefore no coincidence that God named the first man Adam, whose Hebrew root word means ‘red, to be red, to dye red’, and that His Son Jesus Christ bears the title of ‘the last Adam’, who is Spirit and gives life (cf. 1 Corinthians 15:45).
1 Corinthians 15:45:
45 So it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
Thus, for us, the focus should—at best—not be primarily on the authority or the effects of power exercised (Note: such as authority, spiritual gifts, and miraculous works), but on our relationship with the LORD Himself.
For us, this order is the only correct foundation for our active exercise of the authority and spiritual gifts God has entrusted to us— and it is in this that God desires to be glorified, because His Word so decrees (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3).
1 Corinthians 13:1-3:
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
What does the Holy Spirit reveal in us— what is the focus of our lives?
How much importance do we already place on this priority— that righteous deeds come from obedient devotion to God and cannot be accomplished by us alone?
Whose love is this one power that people truly need?
Let us allow ourselves to be illuminated by the Spirit of God and, in doing so, become even more active in our first love for Him during this time ahead of us, which we must make the most of.
Amen and Amen.
In His Wisdom,
Daniel and Tina Glimm
