Danny Steyne: "GOD'S GOVERNMENT IS NOT AN ORGANIZATION--IT IS A FAMILY"
The Bell Rang 12 Times!
On the first day of February 2006, I received a call from an intercessor who proceeded to "ring a bell" through the phone--12 times. The next day on February 2, at exactly 12 noon, I received a phone call from the FBI telling me my daughters (who had been abducted six years before) had been found, and I could come and pick them up in North Carolina! The restoration had begun that Jesus spoke to me about five months earlier during a three-hour visitation!
Recently, on October 25, 2007 during "The Key Of David" conference, a minister Leif Hetland, released a powerful prophetic word into my life. He said, "Danny, you have wrestled with God and you have won, because God has pinned you! He is giving you the anointing of a Jacob that will not do things the normal way, you will cross your hands and release and bless differently than what is normally done!" (Genesis 48:14).
As he spoke, I fell, pinned to the floor, and from behind us (somewhere around 4:15 pm) a bell started ringing and I heard the Lord say, "Count the number of times it rings." Again, 12 times. Something huge was about to take place. This was the day before something would be released. It was happening, and it was happening NOW!
The number 12 is the prophetic number of God's Government. It is the establishing of apostolic foundations of an order over every order. It supersedes and excels beyond the foundations of men and organizations. The protocol of Heaven is very different than the protocol of men.
The next day on October 26, 2007, I woke up recalling that the prophetic bell had rung 12 times on the previous day. Something was going to be established on this day! Throughout the day, God would visit us. There were witnesses who arrived which we had no expectation for. Something huge was occurring, and those of us who were there realized it. A fresh baptism was occurring in the morning with water from Elisha's Spring--the Elisha Mantle released in double portion on His People. A generation that would declare, "Where is the Lord God of Elijah?" as they threw down a mantle and shouted in unison, "WE GET IT!" And then proceed across the Jordan to the promises of God on the earth as a family, going to do the family project...every knee, everywhere!
One young former pastor (who was yearning for more effectiveness) became an intern with a national ministry. He met me as I was walking down the hallway and literally fell into my arms. He wept, "All I want is to be a son! I am so tired of being an intern! I am so tired of being processed through the systems! I want family!" I would hear similar things all day long as others realized that God was truly establishing His Government.
We Are Family!
This past spring, I sat with a precious friend and servant of God who travels the world into hard-to-get-to places! She is truly Kingdom "special ops." As we spent several hours just sharing hearts about God's love for the world and His Bride, it became apparent we were speaking the same language. We were both tired of watching people be processed just through training. We knew that many wonderful men and women have been raised up in ministry training, but what we wanted was family, not a machine. We wanted those who wanted to do the "family project" throughout the earth! We were looking for the family with sons and daughters, not interns and staff!
Historically, the Church has moved further and further away from the intent of God for family. Jesus didn't say He would give us bigger and better organizational ministry structures. He didn't tell us we would have more interns and more programs to facilitate the harvest. He told us we would have family--brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, children. The promises of God to the Church in this hour are--relationships that adjust to a family organism rather than a ministry organization.
"And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for My sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." Matthew 19:29
The cry in every believer's heart is family! They are looking for fathers and mothers, they are wanting to be sons and daughters. The promise of Elijah's coming was fulfilled with John the Baptist according to Jesus (Matthew 11:14). We are looking for a generation different than simply Elijah. We are looking for the double-portion, double mantle release of an Elisha who recognized "a father" and not simply "a mentor." While all those advisors and instructors are helpful. It is the role of "Fathering and Sonship" that are the foundations of the Church.
"For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the Gospel." 1 Corinthians 4:15
The Family of Apostles and Prophets
"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Chief Cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit." Ephesians 2:19-22
Yes, the apostles and prophets built the foundation--and it was family, not organization. In a family, all share. In a family, no needs are hidden. In a family, there is a working together towards the goal of the family. If someone leaves, there is always a place to come back to. THE FAMILY IS HIS GOVERNMENT! God is melding us into a "household of faith," not an organization (see Galatians 6:10). Family has to work together. Even if we don't like each other at times. Even when we have hurt each other, we are still family!
When I moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 2003, the Lord told me what He was calling me to do, and said that it would be very different than what I was accustomed to. Graham Cooke would later prophesy that we would be a prototype church and that "it hasn't ever been done before!" I had no understanding of what that meant, but the Lord began showing us right away that it had to do with His agenda (truly), and we needed Love as the foundation.
For two years, we met together, just a dozen of us. We learned simply how to love each other as family. We had meals together, holidays together, cookouts and fairs that we did together. We weren't perfect at it, but we were learning. Our expectations of a "meeting" changed radically, and relationships were more important than anything we did. That is still true today. We would rather hang out and be family than have a meeting!
We are still learning, and we have lots of bruises, black eyes and aches to prove it, but we get it. We must be family. We can't give up on each other even when we have issues. We must remain committed to the process of learning to love each other as family!
Creation is not looking for the organizational church to rise -
it is craning its neck to see if the sons of God will arise. "The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed" Romans 8:19.
Will there be a generation that gets it?
Will there be a generation that walks as sons before the Lord?
I believe it might be here! I believe there is a generation that is "getting it!"
Much Love and ever increasing for you, my family!
